Acceptable Use Policy.

This acceptable use policy governs the services, products, and technologies (the “Products”) supplied by the Venezuelan Community in Ireland, and aims to prevent unethical, irresponsible, and illegal conduct.

Last reviewed · 5 October 2021

This policy aims to protect the organisation, its customers, and the broader internet community from unethical, irresponsible, and illegal conduct. Customers found to be violating this policy may face suspension of service, termination of their account, and potential reporting to the relevant authorities.

Fair use

We expect usage to follow “business as usual” patterns as set out in the offer schedule. Excessive use may result in additional charges or capacity restrictions. We oppose abuse, discrimination, infringement of rights, and any action that harms individuals or resources. Customers and their end-users must use the Products responsibly.

Customer accountability

Customers are responsible for their own actions and those of anyone using the Products with their permission. This responsibility extends to any unauthorised use resulting from inadequate security measures. By accepting the Products, customers agree to ensure compliance with this policy for all of their end-users. Violations may result in termination or interruption of service without notice or credit.

Prohibited activities

Copyright and unauthorised material. Customers must not use the Products for the transmission, distribution, or storage of any material that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation;
  • Is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right, used without proper authorisation;
  • Is obscene, defamatory, or threatening; or
  • Violates export control laws.

Customers hold sole responsibility for any material they upload and for obtaining all necessary legal permissions.

Spam and unauthorised messaging. Customers must not use the Products to send unsolicited bulk or commercial messages in violation of applicable laws; to run unconfirmed mailing lists or telephone number lists; to subscribe addresses without the owner’s permission; or to use purchased lists for spam purposes. All messaging lists must operate on a confirmed opt-in basis, with verifiable records of permission.

Unethical, exploitative, and malicious activity. The Products must not be used to facilitate:

  • Software or services designed to violate this or any other policy;
  • Network attacks such as sniffing, flooding, or denial-of-service;
  • Unauthorised account access, including “hacking” or “cracking”;
  • The introduction of viruses or malicious code;
  • Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination;
  • Evasion of service restrictions or fraud;
  • Unauthorised access to customer information or interference with networks;
  • Content inciting violence, or child exploitation material;
  • Consumer protection or privacy violations; or
  • Activities linked to illegal gambling, terrorism, narcotics or arms trafficking, or weapons proliferation.

Unauthorised use of organisation property. Impersonation of the Venezuelan Community in Ireland, or misrepresentation of a business relationship with us in order to fraudulently obtain services, is prohibited.

Policy modifications

We reserve the right to modify this policy. A revised version takes effect upon the customer’s use of the Products, or 30 days after publication, whichever occurs first.
